#Macos public beta for free
Public betas are available for free and usually lag behind developer betas by one to three weeks after initially launching. Developer betas require a paid membership to Apple’s Developer Program ($99/year).
The best time to jump out of the beta program is after updating to the Golden Master (GM) version of the beta. It doesn’t actually restore your operating system to the stable version. It means that you won’t receive any additional beta updates. While the developer beta is available starting today, the public beta version will be available starting in July. Opting out of macOS Developer or Public beta simply takes you off of the beta seed channel. IOS 17 and iPadOS 17 will be available as a developer and public beta through summer and be available to everyone this fall. iPadOS 17 includes Lock Screen customization, the Health and Journal apps, and much more. IOS 17 brings loads of changes to Phone, Messages, and FaceTime as well as a new Journal app and Standby feature for displaying information in landscape mode. Now the developer betas are available to download.
Apple took the wraps off its latest desktop. Apple announced iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 during WWDC 2023 today. Public beta of macOS 14 - Sonoma - should be dropping over the coming weeks, with general availability following at some point later this year.
